THIS WEEK: Watch Night Service
Don’t miss the location: Back Swamp Community Church. Questions? Contact us.
Please join us for a time of worship, testimony, & fellowship at Back Swamp Community Church beginning at 9:00 pm. All are warmly welcomed. Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served.
What is a Watch Night service?
Watch Night services tap into the PFWB denomination’s Wesleyan roots. While older examples may be found, John Wesley instituted Watch Night services in 1740 as an opportunity for Christians to gather to honor the faithfulness of God through worship, testimony, & prayer. Sometimes called Covenant Renewal Services, these corporate celebrations offered a time of reflection on the sovereign goodness of God. Indeed, reflecting on God’s merciful providence during the past year instills holy hope for the year to come.
These services are longer than average weekly worship services and are late at night. To that end, we encourage you to not only come, but dress comfortably.
