Celebrating Deacon Ordination

DSC03764(b).jpg

“Therefore, brothers, pick out from among you seven men of good repute, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we will appoint to this duty” (Acts 6:3).

So were the instructions from the twelve apostles to the gathered disciples to assure that the proclamation of the Word of God and the care for the household of God were not at odds.

Springfield PFWB Church is blessed to have men of good repute, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, who hold the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience to care well for the congregation as deacons (1 Tim. 3:9; Acts 6:3). This Sunday, we were doubly blessed to ordain a new deacon into service, which is truly cause for celebration.

Church members, remember our part of ordination, to uphold in prayer and encouragement not only this brother, but all who serve as deacons.

TODAY: Baptism Service

Baptism Service(1).png

Join us today as we celebrate the sacrament of baptism as part of our morning worship service. Baptism is a powerful symbol of the Spirit-empowered resurrection from death in sin to life in Christ Jesus.

Any baptism is a cause for great joy among the family of Christ. Yet, in this season when we’ve been forced to do nearly everything under the sun differently and when so many are sounding alarms over church decline, we are reminded that God is still at work among His people. He is still drawing sinners to repentance. He is still bringing lost souls from death to life. And He is still blessing His church to join in with the heavenly celebration of praise as a body of believers united in our goal of glorifying God in all things.

Due to the size of our sanctuary, we continue to have Outdoor Church each Sunday at 10:00 am. Plan to arrive a little early to get parked, maybe pull out your lawn chairs, and prepare to worship in or near your vehicle.

For those unable or uncomfortable to join us in the yard, our Church at Home resources remain available to you. Among the resources listed, you will find The Weekly Word, video recordings of each week’s sermon from Pastor Mike Mobley.
